Event Details

Lee County Conservation's annual Trout Release event at Wilson Lake is back! During this event, the Iowa DNR will release 1,000 trout and 200 of those released will be tagged for prizes. The release will occur at Noon, and Trout Fishing will begin at 1:00 p.m. The event is FREE, but anglers need to be properly licensed and bring appropriate gear. Children under 16 may fish for and possess trout if they fish with an adult who has a valid fishing license and trout fee. However, their combined daily limit is five trout. Children under 16 may purchase their own trout fee, which allows them to keep their own five trout limit. Trout fees may be paid online at gooutdoorsiowa.com or in person at the Lee County Conservation Center or at any other Iowa DNR license vendors.
